Sang Pemimpi adalah novel kedua dalam tetralogi Laskar Pelangi karya Andrea Hirata yang diterbitkan oleh Bentang Pustaka pada Juli 2006. Dalam novel ini Andrea mengeksplorasi hubungan persahabatan dan persaudaraan antara Ikal dan Arai.
Sinopsis
Dalam Sang Pemimpi, Andrea bercerita tentang kehidupan ketika masa-masa SMA. Tiga tokoh utamanya adalah Ikal, Arai dan Jimbron. Ikal- alter egonAndrea Hirata, sedangkan Arai adalah saudara jauh yang yatim piatu yang disebut simpai keramat karena anggota keluarga terakhir yang masih hidup dan akhirnya menjadi saudara angkat dan Jimbron adalah seorang yatim piatu yang terobsesi dengan kuda dan gagap bila sedang antusias terhadap sesuatu atau ketika gugup.
Ketiganya dalam kisah persahabatan yang terjalin dari kecil sampai mereka bersekolah di SMA Negeri Manggar, SMA pertama yang berdiri di Belitung bagian timur. Bersekolah di pagi hari dan bekerja sebagai kuli di pelabuhan ikan pada dini hari, dari ketagihan mereka menonton film panas di bioskop dan akhirnya ketahuan guru mengaji mereka , kisah cinta Arai dan Jimbron, perpisahan Jimbron dengan ikal dan Arai yang akan meneruskan kuliah di Jakarta yang akhirnya membuat mereka berdua terpisah tetapi tetap akan bertemu di Perancis. Hidup mandiri terpisah dari orang tua dengan latar belakang kondisi ekonomi yang sangat terbatas namun punya cita-cita besar , sebuah cita-cita yang bila dilihat dari latar belakang kehidupan mereka, hanyalah sebuah mimpi.
My Review Now its my turn to review. Sebenernya ini saya mereview ini untuk kalian yang tidak membaca bukunya.
Ya, sebenarnya saya sudah membaca bukunya, tapi tidak afdol bila tidak ikut meneruskan menonton filmnya. Film yang release pada tanggal 17 desember itu, baru saya kesampaian nonton pada hari ini tanggal 24 desember.
Saya menontonnya di TAMINI 21 yang terletak didekat rumah saya di Lubang Buaya. Film dimulai pukul 12.15 dan saya kebagian tempat di baris 3 dari depan dan di bagian tengah. Tempat yang strategis, Alhamdulillah.
Film pun dimulai. Lukman Sardi sebagai Ikal dewasa muncul di awal. Dia menceritakan bagaimana dirinya sebagai Sarjana Ekonomi bisa terdampar di bogor dan hidup dengan pas-pasan, pekerjaannya sebagai tukang pos yang sangat dibencinya. Arai yang belum ketahuan siapa yang memerankannya pergi entah kemana. Ikal dewasa merasa dirinya yang sudah memupuk mimpi-mimpinya hilang sudah. Nah, disinilah dia ceritakan bagaimana dirinya bertemu Arai yang diperankan oleh Sandy Pranatha, sebagai Sang Pemimpi. Seperti yang tertulis di synopsis, Arai adalah seorang yatim piatu yang disebut simpai keramat karena anggota keluarga terakhir yang masih hidup, lalu dijadikan sebagai saudara angkat bagi Ikal, bukannya Ikal yang menghibur Arai karena ditinggal keluarga, malah Arai sendiri yang menghibur Ikal. Arai disebut Sang Pemimpi bagi ikal karena dialah yang menggebu-gebui Ikal untuk bermimpi, sampai bisa sekolah di Sorbone, Perancis. Mimpi Arai itu juga dipicu oleh seorang guru inspiratif mereka sewaktu SMA. Pak Balia yang diperankan oleh Nugie, saya tak menyangka itu Nugie sampai membaca Creditsnya. Ada lagi karakter yang sangat mengejutkan yang nanti akan saya jelaskan. Mengapa saya menyebutnya guru inspiratif karena guru ini sangat menyenangkan dan setiap ia mengakhiri sesi, murid-murid selalu dipintanya untuk meneriaki kata inspiratif bagi diri murid itu sendiri, dia juga menjelaskan soal mimpi, dan quotes-quotesnya, contoh yang paling menohok saya adalah : “Mimpi itu tidak diukur sebagaimana besarnya, tapi sebagaimana kalian serius akan mimpi kalian,” Saya benar-benar tak menyangka, andai saja semua guru di Indonesia seperti ini, kami pasti senang masuk sekolah untuk menuntut ilmu.
Ikal, Arai dan Jimbron teman dekat mereka, semasa remaja, bekerja keras dan belajar dengan giat menunjukkan mereka serius dalam mencapai mimpi mereka.
“Kita lulus dengan nilai tertinggi, lalu kita ke Jakarta kuliah di UI, lalu terima beasiswa ke Sorbone, Perancis!!” seru Arai remaja yang diperankan oleh Randy Ahmad dengan menggebu-gebu. Rupanya Arai tak hanya ceria tapi juga anak yang nakal. Karena dia, Ikal dan Jimbron yang innocent menjadi terbawa. Mereka juga ikut terseret dalam hukuman-hukuman yang diberikan kepala sekolah mereka yang diperankan oleh Landang Simatupang yang galak bukan main. Hukuman yang paling berat yang diberikan adalah membersihkan wc yang baunya bukan main sampai harum. WC sekolah mereka memang baunya bukan main, “Kau masih mau kembali ke tempat busuk itu?!” seru Ikal ketika melihat Arai keluar dari tempat itu. Sialnya Ikal harus berteman dengan WC itu demi hukumannya. Tentu saja Ikal jengkel, apalagi ditambah Arai yang berbicara dengan santainya dan Jimbronyang diperankan oleh Azwir Fitrianto yang tak kunjung berbicara soal kuda. Jimbron memang penggemar berat kuda, hanya karena kuda, gagapnya hilang. Karena sudah tak sabar lagi Ikal membentak Jimbron untuk pertama kalinya, “DIAAAAM!!!” dia lalu memarahi Arai soal mimpi-mimpinya, katanya mimpi mereka itu hanya sebuah mimpi. Masa orang melayu kampung bisa berangkat ke Sorbone?
Sejak hari itu Ikal tidak masuk sekolah, tak hanya Arai dan Jimbron yang khawatir, Pak Balia, sampai Kepala Sekolah juga.
Saya tidak suka pada bagian Ikal ngambek ini, dia bagaikan gembel. Aku pun menyimpulkan, pemuda seperti kami tugasnya WAJIB pergi ke sekolah, kalau tidak, kami layaknya gembel yang tak punya arah dan tujuan hidup.
Sampai pada suatu hari dia bertemu Kepala Sekolah, dia lalu menasehati Ikal, “Bapak keras kepada kalian ada tujuannya. Yaitu agar kalian sadar kalau dalam meraih mimpi itu tak mudah seperti yang diimpikan, pasti ada halang rintang, untuk itu kalian tidak boleh menyerah dalam meraih mimpi.” Lalu dia menyayangkan bahwa anak-anak jaman sekarang hanya bermimpi dan tidak mampu untuk meraihnya. Lalu Kepala Sekolah mengingatkan Ikal kalau ada seseorang yang sangat mengharapkan Ikal, yang selalu datang saat pengambilan rapor dengan baju safari 4 kantong yang ia banggakan hanya untuk anaknya, Ikal tahu dan kenal betul siapa itu, Ayahnya…
Saat itu juga saya ingat ayah saya –yang sedang ikut menonton di beberapa kursi sebelah adik saya- yang selalu menyuruh saya belajar dengan giat agar mendapat beasiswa. Ya, dia mempunyai harapan kepada saya. Tetapi saya malah menganggap dia orangtua yang bawel, huaa.. *nangis dalam hati*
Karena Ikal yang bolos, rankingnya jeblok dari pertama hingga bagian bawah, terbukti saat Ayahnya yang ia sebut sebagai ayah nomor satu sedunia, ketika mengambil rapor duduk di bagian paling belakang.
Setelah selesai Ayahnya berpapasan dengan Ikal dan Arai tanpa mengatakan apa-apa. Tentu saja Ikal sangat terpukul, dia telah mengecewakan ayahnya. Padahal ia sudah berjanji agar tidak mengecewakannya lagi sejak kejadian tukang pos, ayahnya yang sudah 30-an tahun bekerja di tambang timah menerima surat salah kirim tentang promosi naik pangkat, ayahnya kecewa berat saaat itu.
Adegan selanjutnya aku menitikkan air mata, serius, Ikal mengejar Ayahnya yang menaiki sepeda lalu memeluknya, mengharukan, setelah itu dia membonceng Ayahnya sampai rumah. Ikal pasti bertekad akan memperbaiki kesalahannya, dan tak akan pernah mengulanginya.
Banyak adegan yang membuatku menitikkan air mata aka menangis, itu satu contohnya, lalu saat Ikal dan Arai berpisah meninggalkan keluarganya dan saat Ikal dan Arai diterima beasiswa. Sangat mengharukan >o<
Skip saja ya, Ikal dan Arai pun dewasa, mereka lulus dengan nilai tinggi lalu hijrah ke Jakarta, kuliah dan lulus menjadi sarjana. Lalu setting dan alur kembali seperti scene awal. Aku terkejut dan tak percaya melihat Arai dewasa dimainkan oleh Ariel! >o<
Dia tak ingin menyia-nyiakan kesempatan ini, dia berusaha dengan sungguh-sungguh, dan akhirnya bisa diterima di perancis dan kembali bertemu Arai.
Film selesai setelah scene terakhir mereka tertawa dibawah salju. Saya tertegun sebentar, credits mulai muncul. Saya bertanya-tanya, Ya tuhan, kapan ya saya akan berusaha seperti itu, demi mimpi-mimpi saya. Saat itu juga saya menggetok palu, menetapkan mimpi saya, saya tak akan memberitahukannya. Saya akan mau berusaha sebaiknya demi mimpi-mimpi saya.

Synopsis
The story takes place in a downtown of Tokyo, Ikebukuro. Teenage punks gang up and fight against each other. The gangsters are afraid of an urban legend "Dullahan" headless rider, who rides a black motorcycle without head lights nor sounds of engine. Ryuugamine Mikado is a normal high school boy who seeks peculiar beings. When He moves in to Ikebukuro, a mad scramble for Dullahan's missing head breaks out.

Akihisa Yoshii is an idiot. A complete and utter moron.
